In 1943, while away serving his country in World War II, Tony (My Father) wrote dozens of love letters to his future bride Eva (My Mother). He signed each and every letter: Love, Tony and Eva 143. It wasn't until after the war, when Eva finally understood what the numbers meant.
When she asked, Tony explained that each number represented a word. The number one represented "I". The number four represented "Love", and the number three represented "You". Eva, he said,
143 means I love you and you are always in my heart.
In 1986, shortly before his death, Tony wrote what would be his last love letter to Eva and as always, he signed it Love Tony and Eva 143. Tony died on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary and upon Eva's death in 2015, Tony's letter was found tucked away in her handbag where she had carried it for all those years.
Through a labor of love, their eldest son created LOVE BY NUMBERS. A jewelry design that represents the numbers 143 in the shape of a heart. This jewelry design symbolizes the eternal love between two people. In owning this keepsake you too can express your LOVE... BY NUMBERS.
